I would like to share my experience as a journal and book editor. Dr. Kroh and I founded the IAFOR Journal of Education in 2012 and we published our first issue in 2013. We are only three members and of course the journal was brand new and unknown. The journal was brand new and it was really difficult to convince researchers to submit their work. After all, at that point, the journal was indexed... nowhere. Then, the two other members left. So, I became the editor-in-chief of a journal with no team. I must acknowledge the fact that I used LinkedIn to build my first teams of reviewers. Same problem, it was hard to convince scholars to be reviewers for our unknown journal. Nevertheless, our team grew bigger; we had a "breakthrough" when I received an email from ERIC (Education Resources Information Center; sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences of the United States Department of Education), saying they wanted to index our journal. It is now indexed in almost 20 databases. By the time we were working on what was my last issue as editor of the Journal of Education (Volume 5 – Issue 3; December 2017), we had already received the great news that the journal would be indexed with Scopus. That last issue was made with the help of 53 reviewers and board members. From 2013 to 2024, I have "hired" hundreds of reviewers and board members. I take the opportunity to thank all of them.

Some stats:

In the past 12 years, I have edited 22 issues of IAFOR journals (12 of the Journal of Education, one of the Journal of Language Learning and 9 of the Journal of Literature and Librarianship, which also became indexed with Scopus), for a total of more than 4,000 pages, A4 size.
Journal of Education: Volume 2 – Issue 2 is the biggest with 252 pages.
Journal of Education: Volume 3 – Special Edition is the most read with 2,349 views on RG.
Four issues of the Journal of Education published in 2017.

I published my first paper in 1997 when I was still a student. Recently, I have been trying to reflect on what I have accomplished so far. Despite all my efforts, my publications contained some errors and typos. Not happy about it. Is it avoidable? I am not sure, but during the past two years, I have corrected, developed, and updated several of my published work. I don't pretend that they are perfect, but each time I am aware of an error, I correct it. I use ResearchGate, where I can upload the latest corrections of my publications. So far, I have worked on the following paper and books. It represents hundreds of page of hard work... in progress.
